One Man, Three Votes

I voted this morning. The local polling station was dark and rather deserted, but some enthusiastic volunteers issued me with the three large voting papers for the different elections (Mayoral, London Assembly, and European Parliament - pink, yellow and white) and pointed me at the polling booth. Having made my choices and entered my crosses, I put my papers in the proper boxes - or thought I did, anyway (it was hard to be sure in the dark and gloom). "It's all right, we'll sort them out later," a volunteer told me gaily on my way out.
